Summer is around the corner and with it come summer activities such as free movies on the beach 2022.
I regularly attend this annual event, and this year will be no exception. I will be present to enjoy those free movies on the beach.
About the free movies on the beach 2022
Cinema Lliure a la platja (the official Catalan name of the festival) is an independent cinema festival that is held on summer evenings on several beaches along the Catalan coast.
The festival will take place from June 29th to August 11th. This year marks the 11th edition of the event, which is organised by Mago Production. It began on San Sebastián beach and has since grown to include events in Palma, Andratx, and Pollença on the island of Mallorca.
In Catalonia, you can watch free movies at the following locations: Barcelona, El Prat, Sitges, Vilanova i Geltrú, Palamós, and Tossa de Mar.

During the pandemic, the movies were held at the CEM Mar Bella. They are now back on San Sebastián beach every Thursday.
The movies will be projected after sunset, as is customary (between 21:30h and 22h). This year, no reservations are required. A short movie will start the session.
Keep in mind that the movies are screened on the sand. I will be bringing a blanket, a picnic and a bunch of good friends to have a good time like I usually do.
Mago Production will screen a film picked by the audience for the last session on August 11th. The vote will be used through the festival’s Instagram account @cinemalliure.
