Great Dumplings in Barcelona

Here is a place where you can find great dumplings in Barcelona: Lady Dumpling.

You can find this small but cute and modern restaurant serving dumplings in Arco de Triunfo. There is also another restaurant in Barrio Gotico, but I have mainly been to the one in Arco de Triunfo. I will talk about this one.

Handmade dumplings in Barcelona

From the street, you can see Lady Dumpling (or Lady Dumplings (?) as most times I have seen two ladies) making gyozas from a window.

They are there showcasing their talent for everyone to see. You can observe them folding the small treats in different colours – pink, black, green, and traditional – and then putting them on a tray.

Ordering the dumplings

There is no table service in Lady Dumpling. When you enter, you head directly to the cash register. The staff will hand you the menu in Spanish, Catalan or English.

You can choose between two different types of cooking: steamed or a la plancha (on the griddle). The restaurant recommends 12 dumplings per person for a meal. The prices are decent. As an indication, the pork dumplings are 5.90 Euros for 6 units and for 12 dumplings you just add 2.50 Euros to that amount.

So you order your dumplings, some side dishes like edamame or kimchi if you want, your drink and your dessert (mainly mochis). A choice of sauces is also offered.

You pay. You get your drink and a number and they bring the food to your table when it is ready. The service is always agreeable and friendly.

Different flavoured dumplings on offer

I usually come with a friend and we share different flavoured-dumplings mostly with meat because we prefer meat dumplings. They are so tasty and you can choose between pork, chicken, duck, lamb and beef. Lady Dumpling also offers prawn ones.

You can order veggie ones if you are vegetarian or vegan. The dumplings are then filled with greens and shiitake, tofu, mushrooms, and aubergines.

And for the dumpling-hungry with a sweet tooth, Nutella dumplings. I never tried but anything with Nutella can only be good in my humble opinion.
