Los Tarantos
One of my friends came for a visit and wanted to watch a live Flamenco show. I took her to Los Tarantos, and we had an unforgettable evening.
Los Tarantos is one of the oldest Flamenco venues in Barcelona. It is located in the heart of the city and close to nightlife in Plaza Reial. After the performance, you can go out to one of the many bars around the area or have dinner nearby.
I arrived late that time, so I could not sit. My friend was already installed. The moral of the story: be punctual :). The room was full. The venue’s design is similar to a concert/show setting rather than a traditional tablao. I have been to jazz concerts and comedy shows here.
A 40-minute flamenco show
Los Tarantos offer a short Flamenco show. But then you have forty minutes of high-quality and intense Flamenco singing and dancing.
I was standing in front of the bar so I could watch closely the footwork and the facial expressions of the artists on stage. It was fascinating. I would go again with my next visitors.
