Classical music and blues concerts at the MEAM

With the new restrictions in place in Barcelona, we cannot do a lot of things, like leaving the city. But there are also many things we can do like visiting museums and going to concerts. So why not do both? In my post “One fabulous evening: Friday blues at the Modern Art Museum“, I was writing about my experience during a Blues concert in the MEAM. While searching for an interesting activity to do this weekend, I remembered those concerts. The MEAM holds them regularly. In addition to organising Friday Blues concerts, they also have Saturday’s classical concerts, every…Saturday at 6 pm. This is something to think about for the next upcoming weekends as the Friday Blues concerts will run until June 25th, 2021, and the Saturday classical concerts until June 26th, 2021. I am going to the Mozart to Verdi concert this Saturday. And on the 12th, I will be going to the musical conference tribute to prominent African American Women. Their stories will be interconnected with the life and music of the most famous Blues Women. The entrance fee is the same for every concert: 14 euros, and it includes a visit to the Museum. It currently has a temporary exhibition based on a new production of Lohengrin, Richard Wagner’s opera. Why not take advantage before it ends on March 5th? Concerts always start at 6 pm. I wonder if we can still get drinks during the concert now that we are in COVID time… And you? What is your favourite activity to do on a Friday or Saturday night currently?
