A lot have dreamt about it. You can do it very soon: sing live at the Palau de la Música Catalana! You now know that I am into choir singing since my participation in Cor Nua during the Irish Arts Festival, Sitges Live 22′. In less than two weeks, I will join the choir of the Palau de la Música Catalana for one hour or so. And you can too!
On November 20th, the Palau de la Musica Catalana will have its open day. The public will then be able to admire its unique architecture.
In addition, they can also participate in one of the four choral singing workshops organised in the Orfeo Catala’s rehearsal hall.
Montse Meneses, vice director of Orfeo Catala, and Mariona Fernandez, the Palau Vincles Project´s choir director will lead those workshops.
Can you believe your ears?

The proceeds will go to the Palau Vincles Project
The collected donation will go to the Palau Vincles Project.
Palau Vincles is the socio-musical project of the Palau de la Música Catalana. It aims to promote inclusion and social integration through choral practice for children and young people in vulnerable areas or situations.
The aim is for them to experience the power of personal and professional transformation of choral singing.
Palau Vincles offers free choral training to more than 600 children and young people who enjoy the benefits of the choral practice weekly.
Participating in the choir is a fantastic project and the second social project I am joining in Barcelona happily.
Come to the Open doors and support a great cause!
Post edit: Singing live at the Palau de la Musica Catalana
I took part in one of the Open Day’s choral workshops. For some reason, I assumed we would sing operatic tunes in Catalan. But we learned three fantastic songs.
Singing on stage was impressive. We were nervous about forgetting the lyrics. But it all went well. I recommend you join next year!
The first song in English was about being happy to sing all together. Then a Catalan version of the Lion sleeps tonight. And finally, a song about bananas, kiwis, and mangos. I never thought one could build an entire performance on three words only.
We were not only singing. We were also engaging our bodies. Using our hands to mimic sounds such as rain sounds, clapping, and going as far as jumping on stage. The experience was so rewarding and such a mood boost.
